Don’t Be Afraid of Chaos, Improve Yourself by Nurturing

Before writing some articles, I think about the title rather than the content of the article, and I usually make a title out of standard, non-creative things. But this is not the flow of events for this article, because I am sharing with you my stance on life and the biggest advice I give to my close circle and employees; “Feed on chaos!”

Don’t be afraid of chaos, dominate it!

Living with stress

I was ignoring such an important issue and not sharing about it. Actually, I couldn’t think of sharing it because it was at the center of my life. If you ask how did I come up with the idea to write; While I was browsing the internet here and there, American uncle “Abraham Twerski”, who works as a psychologist at the Center for Substance Abuses, appeared again after a long time. And I said yes! The subject of my next article is as important as breathing and is something we constantly try to escape from by being ignored.stress” should be.

Stress The information you can generally obtain from your research on the topic is “it is harmful to the heart, it brings early death, avoid stress, stay away like you would stay away from three white people” etc. It will happen. Those who say these things are wrong! Yes, I agree with the part that it affects body functions and regulates hormones, even though my anatomical knowledge is not sufficient, but there is also the step of turning the situation to our advantage psychologically in this hormonal turmoil.

Turn bad moments into your advantage

If I were to summarize the part of turning the situation to my advantage for myself; Throughout my life, every time I lost 1, I immediately won 3. Of course, it would be wrong to interpret this as greed for the gambling table. I’m talking about my social life and business life. In chaos environments that occur due to mistakes I made or external reasons, respectively; I identify the source of the problem, find out what the solution could be, and take action when everything falls into place in my mind. In other words, if we give ourselves a break and then take action, we can turn the chaos to our advantage with our magnificent analysis using a brain where our attention level is at the highest level, without making up for our mistake with a mistake.

And let’s not forget that After the war is over, not only debris will be found, but there will definitely be loot somewhere.. Our main issue here is not to stay under the rubble, but to have the strength to collect the spoils while standing. If there is a chaotic environment, our attention and alertness increase. In an environment of chaos, when all conditions are in our favor, unfortunately, it is we and the decisions we make momentarily, without even a single second of thought, that turn them against us.

Lack of stress means death of the nervous system.

Eustress (Useful stress)

Reminding me of the stress factor to write this article Abraham TwerskiGoing back to , let me share his wonderful speech on stress.

The Growth Story of the Lobster

Lobsters actually have a soft and jelly-like body. In this state, they live in shells that are extremely difficult to break and never expand.

As the lobster continues to grow, the shell it lives in begins to become narrow and squeeze the lobster. At this stage, the lobster, feeling under intense pressure and stress, retreats to the bottom of a rock to protect itself from predatory fish and struggles relentlessly to break its shell, which causes stress. After long efforts, it breaks its shell and after a while a new large shell forms. The new shell of the lobster, which continues to grow and develop naturally, begins to become narrow after a while and puts the lobster under stress again. The lobster again finds a rock bottom, breaks its shell, albeit with difficulty, and forms a new shell.

This happens repeatedly throughout the lobster’s survival. The lobster’s renewal and development begins when it feels uncomfortable and under stress, and continues with its change. The only stimulus needed for the lobster to develop is the discomfort that comes with the contraction of the shell. The story of the lobster’s life adventure: that moments of adversity and stress are a stimulus for development and can be turned into an opportunity for growth.

I would also like to add my favorite part of Twerski’s speech;

The trigger that allows the lobster to grow is its discomfort. If lobsters had doctors, they would never grow. Because if the lobster felt uncomfortable, it would immediately go to the doctor, the doctor would give it antidepressants, and the lobster would feel fine. Lobsters relieved by the drug’s effects would never shed their shells and would never grow.
